Clergy Certification Training
The Clergy Certification Training held at First United Methodist Church on Saturday May 30th was a tremendous blessing for all who attended. In all there were 12 attendees from the Pennyrile Community and 3 from the Bowling Green Community. Those who attended from the Pennyrile Community were Norman Cotton, Kenny Rogers, Greg Gee, Bob McIntosh, Ricky Conger, Mike Adkins, Gayla Webb, Lorie Hayes, Mike Boyd, Terry Joiner, Clerance White, & Isobel Soberal. The main emphasis of the training was to remind everyone of the purpose of the Emmaus movement, which is to Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the World through the local church. Much focus was also placed on staying within the Parameters established by the Upper Room. The Upper Room Walk to Emmaus welcomes people from every Christian Denomination. In order for this to function properly we must make every effort to only promote those things that all Christians have in common and to show much grace in our differences. If you were unable to attend this training you are encouraged to talk to any one of those who attended. We will make available to you any new training dates and locations as they become available to us. We would like to take this opportunity to thank First United Methodist Church, Hopkinsville, for their hospitality, Garry Speich, our Regional Upper Room Representative for facilitating the training session and to Larry and Debbie Chandler for serving us lunch.
